Mugler X H&M

With its emphasis on self-expression, freedom, and creativity, the fashion house Mugler has always been an arbiter of transformation. It comes as no surprise that the fashion house has now teamed up with H&M to create a collection that embodies their boundary-pushing designs. According to the creative advisor of H&M Ann-Sofie Johansson, discussions for this collaboration began before Manfred Thierry Mugler’s passing in 2022,

“We are proud to celebrate the legacy of Manfred Thierry Mugler with this collection. We were all honoured to get to know Manfred, and it feels very special that he was involved at the initial stages together with Casey and the house of Mugler. Casey has done such an incredible job at paying homage to history, and to the archive, while making the collection totally contemporary. Under him,  Mugler has become one of the most innovative and exciting houses on today’s fashion landscape.”

As an hommage to Manfred Thierry Mugler, the collection will not only focus on a variety of new designs, but also reiterate archival classics to underline the dynamic artistry of the fashion house. In line with this, Mugler’s creative director Casey Cadwallader has also revealed to H&M, “I was determined that this collection be true Mugler”. The collection will both include menswear and womenswear, and will be available on the 11th of May, 2023. The musicians Amaarae, Shygirl, Eartheater and Arca have also created an anthem that is a rendition of Stardust’s 1998 song ‘Music Sounds Better with You’.
