The TOMBOGO “Freelance” Collection

TOMBOGO™ (@tombogo) announces the release of their Fall 2020 “Freelance” collection on TOMBOGO.com starting November 13th, 2020.

This year, our perception of “normal life” has been completely turned on its head. Personally and professionally, we’ve all had to adapt in ways that we couldn’t have ever imagined. For many of us, 2020 threw out our comfort and routine, forcing us to adapt like freelancers — demanding independence, agility, and hard work. “Freelance,” the Fall 2020 collection by TOMBOGO, reflects on these parallels with an array of dynamic workwear garments that push adaptability to the forefront.

“From independent creatives to full-time employees, this collection pays homage to what exactly it means to be a ‘Freelancer’ in the ongoing pandemic — and the strength it’s brought out in all of us,” Bogo states. TOMBOGO celebrates the “freelancer” mentality that this year has instilled in us, regardless of our professions.

The designer drew inspiration from our new “normal” day-to-day lives, while thinking of innovative ways to reinvent classic styles in a modern context. This is only the latest in TOMBOGO’s long reflection on modular design. Each piece of the collection explores how clothing can adapt to different environments, while still being comfortable enough to work from anywhere — a necessity in our new remote world that blurs the lines of work, home, and the outside. The color story is centered around earth tones with pops of bright, bold colors.

The lookbook and short film starring Audrey Mika, J Rabon, Sicology, Darrick Peartree, Lex Giana, and Anthony Quisay spotlights each of the models as independent creatives who each faced their own set of challenges during the pandemic. The campaign reflects the attitude and tenacity that this group of creatives embodied to overcome the hardships faced during these unprecedented times. To reflect the current climate of work life, TOMBOGO designed an outdoor environment within a controlled indoor studio/office--a “remote work space” of sorts. The juxtaposition between the office and outdoors serve as a representation of how we have acclimated and naturally become more in touch with ourselves during this global crisis. The short film showcases the innovative pieces in action and will premiere on November 13th, 2020 at 12pm EST in conjunction with the drop.

Accessories from the collection include gradient tone bucket hats, a utility leg bag belt, rope and hook tote bags in coordinating colors, multi-functional carabiners, and Measuring Tape (packaging tape that can measure surfaces). The accessories are the perfect compliment to the clothing, mixing functionality, style, and modernity.

TOMBOGO™’s products have expanded into intricate and technical apparel with a range of t-shirts, hoodies, trousers, hats, sunglasses, and bags. As a direct to consumer brand all pieces are available on a newly designed e-commerce website at www.tombogo.com.
