Balenciaga and Adidas Inaugurate their new Partnership

Irreverence, heritage, and subversion: these are the three signal words that encapsulate the new partnership between Adidas and Balenciaga.

Their inaugural show was held today in New York City, and was part of Balenciaga’s Spring 23 collection. Located in an abandoned stock exchange set, the setting amplified the leitmotifs of the collection, which are, dark eerie colours, oversized silhouettes, and jet-black rubber masks . In many respects, the collection is inspired by the late 90s and early 2000s. It takes inspiration from the budding years of Adidas, and is tainted by Balenciaga’s intrepid approach to design.
