Celebrating Unity: PORTS 1961 — FW 22 Campaign

The Canadian fashion house PORTS 1961 has just launched its Fall Winter 2022 campaign. The collection celebrates the irreverence that is part and parcel of modern style, and is shot by the mastermind that is Steven Meisel. On a level of generality, leather garments are counterposed with shearling and wool, while frilly leather skirts are worn with bomber jackets. The jumpers in the collection also feature a victorian-nesque puffy sleeve with an ornate design. A final touch is added by the chunky, knee-high leather boots.

Yet, the irreverence of this collection is not simply confined to the designs of the garment. It is worn by a generation of models who represent the energetic and free-spirited attitude of our era, namely Bella Hadid, Vittoria Cerreti, Sora Choi, Mila Van Eeten, and Acherin Madit. The quiet emotionalism of their mood conveys intimacy and celebrates the unity of their friendship — echoing the essence of the collection.
